The strategy, released in July, is a landmark document that outlines a comprehensive approach to combating antisemitism in America. It was developed by the U.S. Department of State and the White House, in consultation with a broad range of stakeholders, including the ADL.

The strategy is based on the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism, which includes a range of behaviors, including hate speech, discrimination, and violence against Jewish individuals and communities. The strategy aims to address these behaviors by focusing on four key pillars: (1) understanding and documenting antisemitism, (2) preventing and responding to antisemitic incidents, (3) promoting education and awareness about antisemitism, and (4) partnering with international organizations to combat antisemitism globally.

The ADL has long been at the forefront of the fight against antisemitism, and the organization played an instrumental role in the development of this strategy. In a statement released on July, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt praised the strategy, stating that it “represents a major step forward in the fight against antisemitism in the United States.”

The ADL has also announced its commitment to supporting the White House in the execution of this strategy. The organization has pledged to work with the government to provide expertise, resources, and support to ensure the success of this critical initiative.

One of the key components of the strategy is the establishment of the position of Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism. The Special Envoy will be responsible for leading U.S. efforts to monitor and combat antisemitism globally, as well as coordinating with other countries and international organizations to address this issue.

The ADL has welcomed the creation of this position and has pledged to work closely with the Special Envoy to ensure that the United States remains at the forefront of the fight against antisemitism.

In addition to its commitment to supporting the White House in the execution of this strategy, the ADL has also announced several initiatives of its own aimed at combating antisemitism. These initiatives include expanding its Center on Extremism, which tracks and monitors extremist activity online and offline, and increasing its efforts to promote Holocaust education and awareness.

The ADL’s commitment to combating antisemitism is rooted in its mission to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all.” The organization has been at the forefront of this fight for over a century, and its efforts have never been more important than they are today.

Antisemitism is a growing problem in the United States and around the world, and it poses a threat not just to the Jewish community, but to society as a whole. By working together with the government and other organizations, the ADL is helping to ensure that antisemitism is confronted and defeated wherever it exists.
